NO!!!!. the afl has had to compete with the nfl. the afl is not that popular it has shorter fields and is not as exciting to some people. it folded not because of the recession (although that didn't help) but because of lackof popularity and fan support. i like the afl but it didn't have the exsposure the big time sports do. it wasn't advertised as much as the nfl it needed to have more of everything just to maybe have a chance at success. the recession played it's part but the lack of advertising and fan support is what really killed it.
