Sure we are talking about it...*

Will this make you want to switch from McD's, Wendy's or where ever to the Whopper? What kind of return on investment could BK expect from this? Is it worth the implicit and explicit costs of running the ad?

For me, it has no impact on my opinions of the McDonald's Big Mac and the Burger King Whopper. To be honest I think the add is kind of pathetic. If people are really that naive that they trust the opinions of people who were told to pick the Whopper then that's sad. They did make a valid point though when they referenced Pepsi and Coke because they have been doing it since the 70's and no one has made an uproar about that. I don't think the commercial by itself is effective but I do believe the commotion and uproar that resulted from it have made it effective.

I actually think this is a rather smart ad campaign. it may or may not be fully accurate or show all the taste tests, although the average watcher wouldn't think of this and it may catch there attention simply with them saying the word "virgin" alone because it is a edgy word not used on television much. Also with the controversy of this campagin Burger King is getting there name out. I have noticed this commercial 2 times today before i watched this just becasue it was interesting and different. Plus if Burger King didn't try something edgy like this they wouldn't get people talking about them, and in my opinion they need as much talk about there name as possible because McDonalds is such a powerhous in this industry.

I find this ad somewhat, dull. I think it really won't have an impact on getting people to eat more whoppers simply because they showed only the whopper favoring people in their commercial. I do, however, feel it will create quite the stir in the burger world. It got me thinking the first time I saw it, I though it was a really weird campaign, and it got me to go to the website and investigate these "whopper virgins". haha, it's a good effort against McDonalds though.
