When I first saw this ad I thought what a cute and sort of clever idea...the second half of this ad I began to wonder if this a SNL commercial. So if you need to make this a December to remember then buy that special person a Snuggie.

I would love to see this companies profit and loss statement after this holiday season.

Um, wow. I was a little surprised by this ad. It just reminds me so much of those random items you see at the AS SEEN ON TV store at MOA. Just a bunch of items you could really go without. It seems like a really weird attempt at making a profit off of a really odd (somewhat pointless) product. It may get some people wanting one simply because of the longing for comfort and warmth during the holiday season, but after these few weeks are over I bet business will really slow down. Plus the name, not so appealing. Not much thought must of went into the naming process. They will have a hard time getting people to buy it, simply because when people think "home for the holidays" I bet the image of resting in a nice big chair in your pajamas, wrapped up in a big blanket, preferably with a significant background (made by grandma/etc), while sipping a warm cup of hot chocolate. Not sitting on the couch with a snuggie. I'm not very impressed with the idea, it lacks luster, and I highly doubt it will see an increase in profit come 2009 and the end of the holiday season.
I think this product and commerical are so laughable that its hard to take serious. I agree that after the winter season and the new craze passes, the Snuggie will loose its luster. I don't think this product or the marketing campaign will be able to stand the test of time.
