NO, This guy can not move the team to a different city! The city is part of the branding of the team. It would not be the same for the fans of that team. It is not fair. But, The guy should have bought it anyway. It would be sweet to own a NHL team.
No, moving an NHL team to a different city would be unbelievable. You would lose so many supporting fans because they wouldn't want to travel a ways to watch their team play. So no, I think that this would be a dumb idea.

Moving an NHL team to a knew city would be tough. First off, you would lose many fans from the original city. Second, you would need to rebuild the brand of the team from the Pittsburgh setting to Hampton setting. I think this would be an ineffective thing to do.
